Itineraries

Day 1

Arrive in Kigali – Transfer to Musanze

  • Arrive in Kigali, Rwanda’s vibrant capital, and enjoy a city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

  • Reflect on Rwanda’s resilience and hope.

  • Scenic 2-hour drive to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.

  • Overnight at your chosen lodge:

    • Midrange: Muhabura Hotel or Le Bambou Lodge.

    • Luxury: Virunga Lodge or Bisate Lodge.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda – Transfer to Bwindi, Uganda

  • Early morning briefing and trek into the rainforest to meet a mountain gorilla family in Volcanoes National Park.

  • Spend an unforgettable hour observing their interactions and gentle presence.

  • After the trek, embark on a 4-5 hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda, crossing the border at Cyanika.

  • Arrive in Bwindi in the evening, where you’ll settle into your lodge surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 3

Relax and Explore Bwindi

Day 4

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

  • Early morning trek into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to meet a second gorilla family.

  • Experience the thrill of tracking gorillas in Uganda’s dense jungles, a unique contrast to Rwanda’s volcanic terrain.

  • After the trek, drive to Lake Bunyonyi (2-3 hours), one of Africa’s most beautiful lakes.
