The 2-Day Mabamba Shoebill Tracking safari offers an unforgettable introduction to Uganda's remarkable birdlife and wetlands. Designed for birdwatchers, photographers, and nature enthusiasts, this short escape takes you to Mabamba Wetland, one of the best places in Africa to see the iconic shoebill in the wild. Located on the northern shores of Lake Victoria, the wetland is recognized as a Ramsar Site of International Importance and supports more than 300 recorded bird species.

Your adventure begins with a guided canoe excursion through peaceful papyrus channels, where experienced local birding guides search for the elusive shoebill. The quiet approach allows you to observe this extraordinary bird in its natural habitat, often standing motionless as it waits to catch lungfish. Along the way, you may also encounter malachite kingfishers, African jacanas, papyrus gonoleks, swamp flycatchers, pygmy geese, and many other wetland specialists.

Beyond exceptional birdwatching, this safari offers a chance to appreciate one of Uganda's most important ecosystems. Mabamba Wetland plays a vital role in supporting biodiversity, filtering water flowing into Lake Victoria, and providing livelihoods for surrounding communities. By visiting responsibly, you contribute to the conservation of this unique habitat and the species that depend on it.

With its convenient location near Entebbe International Airport, the 2 Day Mabamba Shoebill Tracking safari is ideal as a standalone weekend getaway or as an extension to a Uganda wildlife safari, gorilla trekking adventure, or East African holiday.
